Cystitis is a bladder inflammation caused mostly by facultative anaerobic bacteria deriving from the intestinal bacterial flora, very often Escherichia Coli. This bacterium has offshoots called fimbriae and pili on its surface, that adhere to the bladder mucosa so it can establish the infection and multiply in the bladder.

The properties of Cranberry are due to Proanthocyanidins (PAC), polyphenols present in berries, which inhibit the adhesion of bacteria to the walls of the urinary tract. The purified free nucleotides AMP (adenosine 5′-monophosphate: 13%), GMP (guanosine 5′-monophosphate: 15%), CMP (cytidine 5′-monophosphate: 10%) and UMP (uridine 5′-monophosphate: 11%), are totally natural, derived from yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae by enzymatic hydrolysis and produced with the patented RIBOLIFE method (44-48% free nucleotides).
