Advantages
- it acts as a support in the control of hypercholesterolemia
- it promotes the regular function of the cardiovascular system
Food supplement of Policosanol, Red yeast rice with Resveratrol and Folate.
Policosanol is a natural mixture of primary aliphatic alcohols, mainly extracted from sugar cane, which contribute to a correct cholesterol and triglyceride balance.
Fermented red rice is obtained from the fermentation of common cooking rice by a special yeast called Monascus purpureus or red yeast. It contains Monacolin K, a natural statin, which can help maintain physiological cholesterol control. Plant principles extracted from cynara scolimus have a favourable effect on cholesterol control.
Resveratrol is extracted from Polygonum Cuspidatum, which contains 400 times more resveratrol than wine grapes. It is an antioxidant compound with important properties in counteracting cellular ageing processes. It also helps protect the walls of arterial vessels from oxidative stress.
Folic Acid is a valuable aid in promoting physiological plasma levels of homocysteine, the alteration of which may contribute to the onset of coronary events.

Food supplement based on natural ingredients that act on the lipid balance that can contribute to cardiovascular health.
Red fermented rice
Dislicol contains fermented red rice (200 mg), a dietary food known for its lipid-lowering properties, obtained from the controlled fermentation of cooking rice (Oryza sativa) by the yeast Monascus purpureus, for which it takes on the characteristic red color. During this process, the yeasts produce Monacolin K (fermented red rice extract, titrated 1.5%: Monacolin K supplied: 3 mg), a molecule with a structure similar to lovastatin able to inhibit a key enzyme of endogenous cholesterol synthesis (HMG- CoA reductase), thus lowering cholesterol levels. The dosage of Monacolin K in Dislicol strictly respects the legislation in force to protect the safety of the consumer, safeguarding the effectiveness of the product and avoiding the side effects typical of synthetic statins.
Artichoke (Cynara scolimus)
Dislicol contains dry extract of artichoke leaves (150 mg), known for its purifying and diuretic properties and able to lower LDL and triglyceride levels and increase HDL levels. Its active constituents, including the caffeoylquinic acids, have shown the ability to reduce cholesterol and fatty acids levels and favor the conversion of cholesterol into bile acids, thus favoring its elimination.
(Crit Rev Food Sci Nutr 2017. Jun 13, 1-8 Lipid-lowering activity of artichoke extracts: a systematic review and meta-analysis, Sahebkar A et al).
Polygonium
In the Dislicol there is a dry extract of the root of Poligonium (20.40 mg), a perennial herbaceous plant of ancient origin, as fossil traces dating back to the Tertiary have been found. The rhizomes are among the richest natural sources of Resveratrol, containing an amount 400 times higher than grapes and derivatives, resulting in 20 mg of Resveratrol available in Dislicol. In combination with the other active components (hemodyn and polydatin) able to increase its bioavailability, Polygonium phytocomplex shows lipid-lowering and hypocholesterolemic properties, protects LDL from oxidation, induces vasodilation and inhibits platelet aggregation, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity.
Polycosanols
Dislicol contains Polycosanols (5 mg), a mixture of aliphatic alcohols extracted from sugar cane, including the main one octacosanol (titrated 90%). The biological activity consists in lowering the levels of LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol and the simultaneous increase of HDL cholesterol by action on the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, in the reduction of LDL oxidation and in the inhibition of platelet aggregation, contributing to the protection of the cardiovascular system from adverse events.
Folic acid (vitamin B9)
To complete the action of Dislicol, the presence of Folic Acid (0.20 mg), a molecule that the body does not produce and that must be taken with the diet, hence the name of “essential”. Folic acid contributes to cardiovascular health as it takes part in the control of homocysteine levels, known as cardiovascular risk factor. In the absence of Folic Acid, in fact, the enzymatic cofactor for the methylation reaction of homocysteine to methionine is missing and therefore it does not take place, leading to homocysteine accumulation. Hyperhomocysteinemia increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and atherosclerosis more than hypercholesterolemia, as it acts as a free radical, causes vasoconstriction and has atherogenic effect by increasing the amount of foam cells (macrophages that phagocytate it but are not able to metabolize it).
We recommend taking one capsule a day, preferably before meals on an empty stomach.
